Pakistan is home to a large number of Polytechnic institutes that offer diploma programmes spanning three years in different branches. Students are admitted based on their results in the Metric Exams. These Polytechnic Institutes train technologists in various trades. These trades include Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Auto and Diesel Technology, Electronics, Chemical, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Textile and Instrumentation etc.
