Secondary education begins after successful completion of high school i.e. grades 1 to 10 or 10 years of education as it is called so. Students are require to appear for board examination termed as Secondary School Certificate examinations or more commonly as 'Matric'. Area board administers the Secondary School Certificate Examination. Those receive passing marks (normally 33%) on this examination are awarded a Secondary School Certificate or SSC.
