| Law Education in Pakistan | Legal Education is highly valued in Pakistan. There are numerous law colleges in private and public sector. Being an Islamic country, the legal system is based on the Shariat Law that is taken from the holy Koran. Because teachings of the Islamic Laws are considered important part of the legal education taught in Pakistan.
As far as modern education in law is considered, most of the law colleges offer LLB and LLM programmes. The LLB degree courses taught by the law colleges of Pakistan are of three years of duration and top of that one needs to acquire at least a bachelor degree for getting admission to this course. Besides, 2-year LLM degree courses and short-term certificate courses are also offered in Pakistan.
